Jane Scott wrote a small feature on Ace—with nary a mention of the fact that he had a band called Frehley's Comet—which featured the same old stuff.

Setlist courtsey Julian Gill. The band did an in-store signing session at Eide's Comics & Records on the afternoon of the show. The event was attended by some 500 fans according to the fanzine KISS Asylum Exposed (no. 2, p. 20).
Peter B. King's review of the show didn't have anything positive to say about The Comet. Attendance figures comes from this review, the review by Scott Mervis (Post Gazette 87-07-06, p. 12) mentioned 3,600 attending while the aformentioned KISS Asylum Exposed item had a somewhat inflated attendance of 8,500. Mervis's review only noted that The Comet was "boring, mindless".
The photos presented below are courtsey Talking Metal who had identified these as being from Pittsburgh. However, the outfits worn by the band in these photos don't match the details mentioned by KISS Asylum Exposed.

There was some hesitancy surrounding this show. Maiden's 1987 performance at this very venue had apparently been marred by violence and a "mini-riot". Bruce Haring's review in the Newark Star-Ledger noted that the crowd was relatively sparse and was mainly descriptive when it came to Frehley's Comet. When this same review was reprinted in slightly edited form in Billboard, Haring suddenly noted that "Frehley showed superb guitar skills and strong vocals".
Despite the additional security measures for this show it still ranked fourth in the number of arrests at the venue with 16 total. (The Record of Hackensack, NJ 88-07-14, p. F-1) Eight of those arrests were for scalping tickets. Oddly enough there was an in-store appearance at Tower Records on June 23 (!) which mentioned this show in the ad.

This date comes from the work of Julian Gill but it is wholly unconfirmed. I've found nothing in the newspaper record to suggest that there was a show on this date. The only mention of Frehley's Comet (and Iron Maiden) in relation to July 9, 1988, comes from a tour date listing in Circus (88-07-31, p. 9) but there it's listed as a (possible) second show at The Meadowlands.

I've found very little information on this show, apart from two cursory mentions in Pennsylvania papers the two clippings below is it. Julian Gill considers this show doubtful and the fact that it wasn't listed by any of the ticket outlets ads I've found—while both 88-07-08 and 88-07-15 were—gives me some opause as well. The poor quality of the newspaper clipping below aside, the mention of this upcoming show by the Boston Herald is one of the greatest things of all time. Not only did they mis-spell the Frehley name (Freeley), they also managed to mistake Iron Maiden for Iron Buttterfly. Top marks all around!
Jim Sullivan's review in the Boston Globe barely mentioned Frehley's Comet, and then only to deride them as "truly wretched, generic hard rock".

The evidence for this show is scant when it comes to Frehley's Comet. It's listed in the tour date listings in Circus (88-07-31, p. 10) and noted on the tour T-shirt but that's about it.
There exists a bootleg of Iron Maiden's set so we can assume that the show happened but, frankly, have no evidence that The Comet played.

We don't know the attendance for this show but the gross reported in Variety Weekly (88-08-03, p. 86) suggested that, at most, about 45% of available tickets had been sold.
A small blurb in The Daily Journal the day before the show just might have failed to attract more fans of Iron Maiden to the show.

This is an odd date. The Frehley's Comet toiur t-shirt lists Norfolk, VA on this date; the tour date listings in Circus (88-07-31, p. 10) has Hampton, VA; and the otherwise ridiulously exhaustive Iron Maiden Commentary fails to mention this date at all.
The newspaper mentions below is everything I've found and having the first mention of a major event the day before it was supposed to happen seems a little odd. (In contrast the Super Flea market (!) on July 9-10 was advertised and mentioned incessantly.) Regardless off the veracity of the booking, sales were evidently too slow to warrant the show.

Iron Maiden had a really bad couple of days here. After one cancellation due to lacking ticket sales and one unspecified postponement, Bruce Dickinson couldn't make a connection out of New York to make this show. Frehley's Comet played its set to the "capacity crowd".
Iron Maiden returned to the venue the next day, July 27, and did their set. According to The Atlanta Consitution (see below) Frehley's Comet did not perform on this make-up date. Iron Maiden were later lauded by the local press for their handling of this event noting that they "quitely took care of the extra expenses when the heavy metal band had to postpone its Fox Theatre concert by 24 hours last week."
