Deuce (w. Gene and Paul)
The first in a monthly series of shows hosted by Hit Parader, the show is mostly remembered for Gene and Paul getting up on stage with Frehley's Comet for the encore Deuce. Apart from Gene and Paul, "Bill Aucoin, and Ace's ex-wife Jeanette, and Anton Fig" were in attendance (RAW magazine, unknown issue 1988 p. 29), and, according to the Kerrang review, both Scott Ian and Frank Bello of Antrax were in the crowd. French magazine Hard Force also had a feature on this show and fanzine KISS Klassics had a report by Brian Rademacher and Bill DeMild.
According to Paul he almost didn't go to the show: "We were invited to go down to the Limelight, but I decided that I was too tired to make it. However, at the last minute I said, 'What the hell, I'll go!' even though I was in pretty casual attire, shall we say. [...] Gene and I both said we weren't going to play..." (Ibid.)
When asked about it Gene said that: "Ace was playing The Limelight and I went to see him and he asked whether or not I would come up on stage. Paul and I said 'sure'. Nothing more." (Rock Scene February 1989, p. 16)
Paul again: "[Ace] invited us down (to the Limelight) and I wanted to see the band and had no intention of playing. And at the end, he came offstage and asked if we wanted to play. [...] And he wasn't taking no for an answer. It was great to get up and play with him." (Rock Scene Concert Shots, May 1989 p. 28)
The band did an in-store appearance at Tower Records a mere three days before this show but the ad for that event chose not to mention this show but rather the July 8 show at the Meadowlands.

The only mention of a show on this date comes from the work of Julian Gill. Neither the ads nor the newspaper listings support that it happened.
